Umuahia East Adopt Rep. Onuigbo As Their 2019 House Of Reps. Candidate

The people of Umuahia East State constituency in Umuahia North Local Government Area have unanimously adopted Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Senator T. A. Orji of Abia central and the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency Chief Sam Onuigbo for a second term in office come 2019.

The people who made the endorsement in an interactive session with Chief Sam Onuigbo noted with delight the achievements of the leaders in the past three years and stressed the need for them to be allowed to continue till 2023.

In a motion moved by the Councillor representing Ibeku East ward 2 Mr Onyekachi Egbulonu and seconded by his counterpart of Azueke ward Mr Prosper Mezuo Onyediakor while the Councillor for Mbaocha ward and Majority Leader Umuahia North Legislative Council Mr Osinachi Uchechukwu Michael added a legislative touch to it, they noted that their decision was based on the meaningful impacts of the three leaders in the area, through the positions they occupy and their selfless leadership style.

Contributing, Mr Lawrence Chionye, Prince Clinton Alozie, Mr Bright Orioha and Mr Vincent Okpechi while appreciating Chief Onuigbo for keeping to his campaign promises and attracting numerous projects to the people despite being a first term member at the National Assembly, also commended him for the harmonious working relationship existing between him and other political leaders in the constituency.

Also speaking, the Councillor for Ibeku East ward 1, Chief Lucky Onuegbu, Mr Nath Nwoko, Victor Onyenkwere and Chimezie Kingsley drew the attention of the federal lawmaker to some challenges of the people of the area ranging from employment opportunities for their youths to ecological issues and pleaded with him to help in addressing them and pledged their continued support.

Responding, the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency Chief Sam Onuigbo who enumerated some of his achievements in the past three years at the national assembly appreciated the people for their support and confidence in him, assuring that he will continue to work hard and in consultation with other political leaders and stakeholders to raise the bar of development in Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency.
