UEFA Punishes Guardiola With Two Match Ban

UEFA has handed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola a two-game suspension for his conduct during the defeat to Liverpool in this season’s Champions League quarter-finals.

Guardiola’s reaction at the officials at the halftime for a decision that was ruled in the favour of his team in the second-leg at the Etihad on the 10th of April has been affirmed to be extreme.

The former Barcelona coach was dismissed to the stands after he protested a goal that was disallowed and verbally insulting the referee.

According to the statement, he will serve a one-game ban next season, with the second game deferred for a year.

Liverpool was also fined €20,000 for crowd disturbances, and they were also fined for the attack on Manchester City’s team bus and object being thrown in the Stadium prior to the match.

Liverpool was fined €6,000 for fireworks being sent off and objects were thrown in the second leg with City.
