Suspense grew on Monday, December 5 as the international community waited for who emerges as U.S Secretary of State under Donald Trump. The President-elect was holed up in a cabinet talk as he puts finishing touches to his numerous appointments before his inauguration on January 20, 2017.

Recall that the Republican Billionaire has so far named 12 members of his team which include Defence, Health, Treasury and Commerce secretaries. Others are Attorney General, CIA director and ambassador to the United Nations among others.

Names that are being thrown up for consideration for the plum job include former critic Mitt Romney, onetime CIA director David Petraeus, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker and former UN ambassador John Bolton.

The new names being bandied about are Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson, Barack Obama’s former ambassador to China Jon Huntsman, and California Congressman Dana Rohrabacher.

Trump’s latest appointment was that of former rival and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson as secretary of housing and urban development on Monday.
