The Lifelessness Of Buhari Is The Reality Of Nigeria’s Situation

—Chibuikem Ndubuisi,

Following U.S President Donald Trump’s meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Financial Times was reported to have revealed, and I quote;

“The first meeting, with Nigeria’s ailing 75-year-old Muhammadu Buhari in April ended with the US president telling aides he never wanted to meet someone so lifeless again, according to three people familiar with the matter.”

Okay, so Trump’s impression of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria is that he is lifeless? How did it take his aides so long to confirm what patriotic Nigerians have known for over three years? I mean, the only people who would think that Buhari was not lifeless(especially mentally), are only those whose cheques he cuts, so indeed all patriotic Nigerians had come to this Trump’s conclusion months into the Buhari administration.

 Buharimaniacs And Buharideens

This was the same meeting that handlers of President Muhammadu Buhari, had gone to town, bragging about how that meeting was a reflection of the high esteem in which President Buhari is held by the international community.This same meeting, largely viewed by critics of Buhari’s failed administration as a PR ploy to boost what had become a completely failed government, saw Buhari’s handlers micro-managing journalists who were at the joint press conference of the two leaders, to ensure that the President of Nigeria does not embarrass the country again, as had become customary with him anytime he was out of the country(by the way, he could have still easily embarrassed himself in the country if he allows himself to be questioned. Which explains why he has refused to conduct media chats).

Recall that just a few months into his administration, the same Buhari was asked a question during an international press appearance about how he plans to run an inclusive government. To the embarrassment of all Nigerians(apart from his supporters, of course), Buhari did not know that “inclusive governance” meant and had to ask the moderator to explain that to him! Even after it was explained to him, Nigeria’s President ended up answering “off-point”, and putting a stamp on his ethnicism and parochialism.

One must also always bear in mind that this is the same man with shady certificate issues, who preferred to hire lawyers to protect the fact that he does not want to bring to the open proof that he did go through secondary school!That he is fighting so hard to conceal his ” certificate” shows that there is something massively wrong with the man’s intellect.

Between Trump And Trudeau, The Liar Is?

While all of these shadow the government of a man who claimed to be fighting corruption, but under whose care corruption by government officials has blossomed with his active protection, what has become clear with the revelation of President Donald Trump’s opinion of him is that Nigeria, for three years has had a lifeless President. Many knew this, but due to Buhari’s use of security agencies to clampdown on critics, have refused to openly say it.

While President Buhari may not be physically dead, he is so mentally dead that he cannot think up anything constructive that can move the country forward. Here is a President who spent six months searching for ministers and ended up with the likes of Ogbonnaya Onu, Solomon Dalung, Shittu, and Adeosun who in effect forged her NYSC exemption certificate.

We are talking about a President, who asked Nigerians to condone killer herdsmen, but went ahead to charge his military to deal brutally with those who steal cows! Talk about being mentally lifeless!

One can say that Buhari is brain dead and not be far from the truth. There is nothing in what he does that shows someone with the mental capacity to even superintend over a tiny kiosk in Katsina. Donald Trump’s position brings to the fore the hidden views of many Western and indeed African leaders. In fact, you cannot as an intelligent person listen to Buhari without feeling like your brain was undergoing a life threatening process.

That is why today, Nigeria is in a coma. Nothing works in the country and it is as if everyone is waiting for the final pronouncement of the death of the country.There is no way a lifeless person can inject life-giving ideas into a country hence, as Buhari’s brain lies lifeless, so does Nigeria’s progress as a nation.

 McCain’s Death: Trump Comes Under Fire

President Trump’s pronouncement couldn’t have come at a better time, especially as the country prepares to go to the polls in 2019.Nigerians must now forget cult followership and decide if the fate of about 200 million persons is best served by a brain-dead man.
