Stakeholders From Ikwuano/Umuahia Pass Vote Of Confidence On Onuigbo

Stakeholders from Ikwuano/Umuahia, in Abia State Nigeria have passed a vote of confidence on the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Rep. Sam Onuigbo, the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Chief T.A Orji, and the Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. The vote of confidence was contained in a communique issued by the group at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting held at Oloko, Ikwuano, Abia State last weekend.

The stakeholders who comprise of key political heavyweights, traditional rulers, youth leaders, and government functionaries from the three local government areas of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South unanimously declared that Rep. Onuigbo,Senator T.A Orji, and Governor Ikpeazu have been performing very well since being elected.

The stakeholders who specifically commended Rep. Sam Onuigbo for the efforts he is making to ensure that the delisted faculty of Management Sciences from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture is restored, commended him for moving mountains to ensure that the Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene is now motorable.

They used the medium to also call on the federal government to immediately bring to a stop its plans to delist Management Science courses from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, as such actions will not only affect the educational opportunities available to potential students whom the school is within their catchment area, but also adversly affect socio-economic life within the area. They pointed out that as a state, Abia only has one federal academic institution, thus pruning the courses the lone federal institution offers would be unfair.

Reacting, Rep. Sam Onuigbo vowed to continue to fight for the good of the people of the area, and assured them that he will not relent in his efforts to ensure that Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South sits boldly among other great federal constituencies.
