Siasia Set To Land South Africa Job

Ex-Super Eagles star, Samson Siasia, is reportedly ready to pick up the job of coach of the South Africa national football team after indicating interest in the job.
The Bafana Bafana have been without a substantive manager after the South African Football Association (SAFA) sacked Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba as a result of an unpardonable burst with the FA.
Siasia, who has had three different stints as coach of the Super Eagles, is currently without a job following the expiration of his contract with the Nigeria U-23 team.
The former striker led the Dream Team VI to the country’s only medal at last summer’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and vowed never to work with the NFF again.
Should the 49-year-old get the nod, he will come up against his own nation with Nigeria drawn against South Africa in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Among some of his coaching achievements, Siasia coached Nigeria to a silver medal in Beijing in 2008, and was the winning coach of the African U23 Nations Cup in 2015.
