Senator Magnus Abe And Chibuike Amaechi Clash

Reports emerging from the camps of both Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, and Transport Minister Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi have revealed that both chieftains of the All Progressives Congress(APC) are embroiled in a bitter supremacy battle.

According to the reports, while Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi believes that he is the leader of the party in Rivers State, and as such should call the shots,Senator Abe thinks otherwise.Senator Abe,it was reported does not think Amaechi is bigger than him,as he is a Senator of the Federal Republic, and was in the Rivers State House of Assembly at the same time as Amaechi.

It is believed that the current bitter battle between the two men is connected to Magnus Abe’s desire to contest for the governoship of Rivers State in 2019,something Amaechi would not have.

Recall that prior to the 2015 governorship elections in the state,Senator Abe was seen as the most viable candidate who could have contested evenly with the then candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), and current governor of the state,Nyesom Wike. This however did not materialise as Amaechi, the Abe camp believes, manipulated the voting process and produced Dakuku Peterside who from the outset stood no chance against Nyesom Wike.

Senator Abe,it is now believed is committed to challenging Wike in 2019, and fancies his chances. He therefore would not let Amaechi stand in his way again, hence the bitter power tussle that is ongoing between the two of them.
