Ronaldo To Abandon Ballon D’Or–Reports

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday evening despite being a prospective winner of the prestigious award.
Ronaldo is expected to be ‎in Japan with the Real Madrid squad ahead of the Club World Cup where he will also play a major role. Real will  on Thursday, battle Club America in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup and play the final three days later if victorious, meaning Ronaldo will miss the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
The year 2016 can arguably be termed a successful one for the Portuguese having won ‎the Champions League with Real Madrid and Euro 2016 with Portugal.
The world expects to have a new king of football with Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann as co-contestants. A victory for Ronaldo on Monday will have him claim the Ballon d’Or for the fourth time in his career.
Aside trophies, Ronaldo has got financial success that had him earn ‎over 225 million euros in 2015, including 20 million euros held in 22 Swiss bank accounts.
