Rohr Maintains Belief In Iheanacho

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr’s belief in Kelechi Iheanacho has not changed as he backs the youngster to prove his worth at Manchester City despite the current happenings.

The arrival of Gabriel Jesus has relegated the Super Eagles striker to the bench,in Manchester City’s first team.

However, Rohr expressed optimism in the striker’s ability to fight for a place in the team.

“I am sure Kelechi will come back to this team. He’s a fighter, he has a good fighting spirit. This player is a good athlete and he has a good mind,” Rohr said during a media parley in Sagamu.

“I have spoken with him and he will come back. He’s a young player, so sometimes he plays, sometimes he doesn’t,” Rohr said.

Iheanacho who scored in the first two matches against Tanzania and Zambia under Rohr has other top players such as Sergio Aguero, Jesus Navas to contend with but the Eagles boss is upbeat on the Nigerian youngster’s chances.
