Rochas Okorocha Turned Imo State Into A Laughing Stock—Ihedioha

The Imo state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has decried how the governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha through his actions, made the state a laughing stock.

Ihedioha, who was addressing a cross section of Imolites in Garland, Texas, U.S.A, said that the actions of the governor impacted on all Imolites and therefore, all of them were responsible.

“Whether you like Rochas or not, it is our state, and he is our governor,” the former Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives said.

“So his actions have an impact on us. The money he squandered is on our head. It has deprived us of development and deprived our children of their future.”

Ihedioha, who asked if any person present in the hall is proud of the state, continued by saying;

“It [Okorocha’s action] has made us a laughing stock. Nobody is happy with the way things are in Imo state.”

He charged Imolites to get seriously involved in determining who rules them, as their future and the future of their children depend on it;

“Governance is a serious business; don’t be a bystander, get involved.”

Emeka Ihedioha pointed out that he believes that in 2015, he won the election, but was not declared winner;

“I believe I won the popular votes but I was not announced, so I was not sworn in. I’m wiser and more prepared now.”

He charged the people to ask the hard questions and take the right decisions no matter how difficult;

“We must ask the question; what do we do to recover our state?”

Ihedioha promised that when elected, he would run a participatory government, and use his wealth of experience gathered over three decades as a power broker, to rebuild Imo state from the ruins that Okorocha has taken it to.
