Resignation: APC Leadership Takes Final Decision On Oyegun

South-South leaders of the All progressives Congress (APC), has maintained that the party’s National Chairman,  John Oyegun would not resign as a result of the defeat the party suffered during the just concluded Osun West Senatorial District election.

Recall that after the shocking defeat by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Ademola Adeleke, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, had called for the immediate resignation of Oyegun.

“By now after our defeat in Osun, I expect Chief Oyegun to have resigned, but unfortunately, I know he isn’t going to resign. But the best thing for anybody to do after losing this kind of election, just a by-election is to resign, ” Frank had said.

However, responding to Frank’s position in a statement entitled “Personality and hard-earned integrity of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun”, the leaders under the aegis of South-South Front, described the APC leader as a role model and a suave politician.

They said, “Chief John Odigie-Oyegun is a visionary leader and a bridge builder. His thorough leadership style has inspired Nigerians.

“We wonder when Timi Frank and his sponsors will start appreciating the works of a good man. Is it when he is dead?”

In the statement signed by the chairman of South-South Front, Chief John Harry, the group further applauded Oyegun for protecting the interests of the party members.
