Onuigbo Charges Ibere Youths To Pursue Their Dreams

The member representing the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Rep. Sam Ifeanyi Onuigbo has charged the youths of Ibere clan, in Ikwuano Local Government Area to shun drugs and stay focused on their dreams.

Rep. Onuigbo made this known in a message delivered to the youths of Ibere during the 2017 Ibere football league, which he sponsored.

Onuigbo who commended the youths for living exemplary lives and shunning violence during the period of the football competition pointed out to them that the future belongs to them, hence it was time they began to take positive initiatives that will help them position effectively as future impactful leaders of the clan.

In a similar vein, the honourable member charged the youths of Obuohia Obi-Ibere to ensure that the overall good of the community is their interest. He advised them to also shun drugs and violence, and embrace education and positive initiatives. The honourable member was speaking during the Obuohia Obi-Ibere December 2017 football league, which he also sponsored.

Responding, the Youth Secretary of National Ibere Youth Association(NIYA), Comrade Cokey Nwachukwu, thanked the Rep member for coming to the aid of Ibere youths, and ensuring that the yearly football competition holds, despite the death of its former sponsor, His Royal Highness Eze Ifeanyi Oluwa, of Agbo Ibere.

Comrade Nwachukwu, on behalf of the youths commended the honourable member for redefining representation, and especially thanked him for the rehabilitation of the Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene federal road. Cokey Nwachukwu said that by that singular intervention, Rep. Onuigbo saved many lives and boosted economic activities. He assured him of the total support of Ibere youths for his re-election bid in 2019.

In his own reaction, the National President of Obuohia Obi-Ibere Youth Association, Mr. Michael Dickson thanked Rep. Onuigbo for his laudable efforts towards making life easier for the people of Obuohia. Mr. Dickson who pointed out that prior to venturing into politics, Rep. Onuigbo had attracted a secondary school to the community, commended him for the rehabilitation work being done at the Obuohia Health Centre, and the erosion control work at Okwe Oboro, which ensured that the road that links Obuohia to the world was not cut off.

Mr. Dickson pointed out that as a son of Obuohia, Rep. Onuigbo’s achievements in just over two years in office has made the youths of the community proud, as they can now boast in the midst of their peers that Obuohia produces the best. He urged the honourable member to do more by ensuring that the construction of the Okwe-Obuohia-Nkari road which he had included in the 2018 budget is approved.

Cash prizes for the winner, second place and third place teams for both the Ibere and Obuohia leagues, were made available by the honourable member, in addition to the provision of kits, and training materials.
