Ondo Elections:Mimiko Warns Of Breakdown Of Law And Order If Jimoh Stays

Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko has warned that there could be widespread violence in the state, following the substitution of Eyitayo Jegede, with Jimoh Ibrahi, as the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate,by INEC(Independent National Electoral Commission) in the November 26 Ondo State Governorship elections.

Mimiko stated this shortly after a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja.

Protests had erupted following the announcement of Jimoh Ibrahim as the PDP’s candidate by INEC late Thursday. Mimiko now fears that the protests will snowball into something bigger and more consuming.

Jimoh Ibrahim, is the governorship candidate for the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP, while Eyitayo Jegede is the candidate for the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the same party. Governor Mimiko, belongs to the Makarfi faction
