No More Defenders For United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted he will no longer strengthen their defence but focus on his attack this summer.

The Sun says Solskjaer wants to give his defenders a chance to prove themselves before addressing the problem areas.

His priority ahead of the summer is a right-winger, with SunSport revealing last month’s interest in England youngster Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund.United are also monitoring Juventus’ Douglas Costa and are long-term admirers of Inter Milan wide man Ivan Perisic, who regularly plays on the left flank but is comfortable on both wings.

At the back, United have Chris Smalling , Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly , with Marcos Rojo returning from injury.

Solskjaer’s instant impact since taking over in December has seen an upturn in form and hope the Norwegian’s coaching could save them from breaking the world-record for a defender in the summer.
