Nigeria’s Handball Coaches To Get IHF Training

President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Sam Ocheho has said the Federation is working hard to ensure that the country’s coaches are trained by the International Handball Federation as talks have already begun.

Ocheho, said this in Lagos during the recently concluded Sam Ocheho International Invitational Handball Championships.

According to him, the federation is determined to improve the skills of coaches as well as the technical officials in the sport.

The HFN boss said the training would hold in Lagos, adding that the female national team would be in camp for two weeks so that tabs can be kept on them and their progress evaluated ahead of future competitions.

Nigeria will not be competing in the Congo 2018 African Women’s Handball Championship after the Confederation of African Handball barred the country from the competition.

“We are currently in talks with the IHF to help us train and develop our coaches. The training will come up before the end of the year because we need our coaches to have the latest knowledge in the sport which will impact on the players as well, ” he said.
