Man City Faces UEFA Europe Ban After FFP Probe

There are fears that English Premier League giants,Manchester City, could be banned by UEFA from Europe if it is later established that they have broken Financial Fair Play laws.

The Mirror reports on Monday, that UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin described the issue as a “concrete case” and confirmed they are reassessing the issue.

UEFA insiders are making it clear the only viable sanction now is a Champions League suspension — as even a massive fine would not hurt mega-rich City.

Ceferin said: “We are assessing the situation. We have an independent body working on it. Very soon we will have the answers on what will happen in this concrete case.”

City accepted a £49m fine in 2014 as part of a UEFA punishment for breaching FFP rules as well as a limit on their European squad and limit on their transfers and wage bill.

But that case was blown open again recently by the Football Leaks revelations published in German magazine Der Spiegel.
