Let’s Talk Facts: Why Buhari And His People Are Scared Of Atiku

In 2015, when President Muhammadu Buhari ran for office, what they projected(and it was extensively broadcast by the media) as Nigeria’s major problem was corruption. Candidate Buhari then ran as an anti-corruption Czar, and a man of integrity. It was easy to sell him to Nigerians, and the country came together(mostly), and voted him into power.

History has since proven that Buhari is neither against corruption, nor does he have any iota of integrity in him. Otherwise, how would one explain the fact that since Buhari came into power, only people who oppose him have been hounded by the EFCC, while his associates like Kemi Adeosun, Babachir Lawal, Umar Ganduje, Obanikoro Musiliu, etc, have largely been untouched and walk the streets free? In a similar vein, anybody accused of corruption who crosses over to supporting Buhari such as Orji Uzor Kalu, Godswill Akpabio, etc, suddenly becomes a saint just by virtue of “kissing the ring of the master”. Furthermore, Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of Buhari’s APC, even with a court order asking that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) should investigate and prosecute him for embezzlement of public funds, still free and uninvited by EFCC, while Ayodele Fayose has been locked up since.

All of these unmasked the fact that Buhari is in no way against corruption, but is rather interested in clamping down on the opposition, while pretending to fight corruption. A very concrete proof of this is the fact that while Fayose is in lockup for collecting money from Obanikoro, Obanikoro, whom the EFCC alleges gave the said funds to Fayose is free, and the EFCC only recently returned his international passport to him. Obanikoro is APC, Fayose is PDP, Buhari is fighting corruption indeed!

Nigerians have therefore since seen that Buhari in fact is in bed with corruption. Nigerians also realized quickly enough that the country’s major problem is not corruption but rather incompetence. And Buhari has in all its ramifications proven that he is not only incompetent, but grossly so.

Facts are stubborn, and they always refuse to be hidden.

First of all, under the so called anti-corruption Czar, Nigeria has moved from the 136th position in the Corruption Index, to 148th! That is a whopping 12 places! So it becomes immediately clear that Buhari is not fighting corruption, but is rather pretending to be fighting it.

But that is not all. Under a year after Buhari came to power, the prices of foodstuff doubled while the pump price of PMS went from N97, to N143. Yet an unprecedented $3.8billion is now being expended on fuel subsidy! Recall that Buhari, before coming into power said that anybody who claims to be paying subsidy is a fraud!

What is more heartbreaking is that a whopping 9.9 million Nigerians have lost their jobs under Buhari.

All of these are everyday realities that Nigerians live with, which, coupled with the increase in the daily death of Nigerians in the hands of terrorists and murderous herdsmen, made Nigerians realize that not only has Buhari failed, but woefully so.

With nothing to show after about four years of blood, death, hunger, and immense division and trampling on the rule of law, Buhari and his people have nothing to campaign on. So for them, the only thing to do was to resort to all forms of attacks on the person whom they see is the sole solution to Nigeria’s problem–Atiku Abubakar.

So why are they so scared of Atiku Abubakar?

Buhari and his people know that Atiku is historically placed as the only real solution to the pressing needs of Nigeria at this point in time.

Atiku represents jobs, affluence, a knitting together of a fragmented country. And all of these qualities are what Nigerians are looking for in their new leader. Aware now that pretense to fighting corruption will not solve Nigeria’s problems, Nigerians have begun to queue behind Atiku, since he represents the solution to the country’s needs.

Atiku represents the sole hope to the restructuring of Nigeria, boosting of the nation’s economy, and finally getting a moribund Nigeria working again, and Nigerians are now fully aware of this.

So for Buhari and his limited supporters, the only way they can continue their plans of destroying Nigeria is to carry out attacks on Atiku and his running mate Peter Obi, while concocting all forms of lies against Atiku, so as to try and see if there are Nigerians still gullible enough to fall for their plans of projecting Buhari as a saint who alone can save the country. But Nigerians are wiser now and have already made their choice, and that choice is resoundingly Atiku Abubakar.

It does not matter what lies Buhari, Buharideens and Buharists, tell and will still tell about Atiku, the people of Nigeria need JOBS and someone who will get Nigeria working again. And that man is only Atiku Abubakar.
