Lai Mohammed’s Ministry Of Information Gets N49 Billion In 2017 Budget

The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture under the watch of Lai Mohammed is to spend N49 billion in 2017 for its services.

This came as the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma announced it on Monday at the Public Presentation of the 2017 budget proposals in Abuja.

The Minister made the disclosure following comments and observations by some members of the public at the public presentation on the proposed budget estimates that they did not hear the amount of money proposed for the vital Information and Culture sectors.

While responding to the observations, Lai Mohammed stated that the Ministry would commence Digital Switch Over broadcast in Abuja on Thursday, December 22 and that 30 free channels would be available to all owners of television top-set boxes.

He similarly expressed the determination of the Ministry to intensify the Change Begins With Me campaign, which he described as the flagship programme of the Ministry.

Recall that many political analysts have tagged the Information Ministry as the propaganda unit of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC).
