Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger, has praised Super Eagles striker, Alex Iwobi, stating that the lad is ready for greater challenge at the club. Wenger who is surprised at his maturity since breaking into the first team said Iwobi has had good consistency with high performance.
The midfielder was involved in all three of Arsenal’s second half goals last Saturday as the Gunners secured an impressive 4-0 win over Swansea in the English Premier League and the Frenchman is ready to unleash the 19-year-old against Burnley this weekend.
“He is more and more comfortable in the team. But I think Alex Iwobi, above all his talent, is a guy who has a fantastic team attitude” Wenger told Arsenal’s website.
“He is gaining in confidence as well. You could see overall that he develops very well. If he keeps that kind of spirit he has at the moment, he can go much higher up. That’s my wish.”
The victory left Arsenal in third place in the EPL table and eight points behind leaders Chelsea in the race for the title.
Arsenal, who have not won the title since 2004, are now gearing up for their Premier League clash against Burnley at the Emirates on Sunday.
