Ibere Clan Heap Praises On Onuigbo

The people of Ibere clan in Ikwuano LGA of Abia state have expressed their appreciation to the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South federal constituency, Rep. Sam Onuigbo, for what they called his extraordinary feat at the House of Representatives.

The people made this known during the “Ibere Sensitization and Solidarity Visit” programme which held at the Ibere Comprehensive Secondary school field on Saturday January 26. 

Speaking earlier on behalf of Ndi Eze Ibere,at the Palace of Peace, in Inyila Ugwu-Ibere, Eze Professor Samuel Ifenwanta described Rep. Onuigbo as an extraordinary leader and a great ambassador of Ibere, who has redefined representation. He therefore assured him of the total support of the entire Ibere people.

In his speech, the convener of the programme and head of the Kelechi Ogbonnaya Skills Acquisition Programme(KOSAP), Engr. Kelechi Ogbonnaya said he and Ibere youths organised the programme as a mark of appreciation to Sam Onuigbo for his many people-impacting projects which have positively impacted Ibere people and projected the clan in good light. He called on the people to vote massively for their son Rep. Onuigbo and all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

In his speech, former Transitional Council Chairman of Ikwuano, Hon. Clement Onukwue assured Chief Sam Onuigbo that the people of Ibere will give all their votes to him, and recalled that it was the honourable member who, in his responsiveness to the pressing needs of of the people, reconstructed the Itunta/Elemaga bridge which collapsed about ten years ago. He urged Rep. Onuigbo to continue to bring the dividends of democracy to the people.

While speaking, Chief Ugochukwu Ugbo recalled how prior to the reconstruction of the Itunta-Elemaga bridge by Sam Onuigbo, the people of Itunta and other villages used to keep the corpse of their dead for over a year while trying to figure out how to bring them back for burial and thanked the honourable member for ensuring that that challenge is now a thing of the past.

The Education Secretary of Ikwuano, Chief Mrs Ego Nwamuo, in her speech described Chief Onuigbo as someone who loves empowering the people especially in the area of employment, skills acquisition, and the provision of means through which the youths and women can earn good livelihood. She promised that the women of Ibere are solidly behind Rep. Onuigbo.

In his reaction, Rep. Sam Onuigbo said he was overwhelmed by the thoughts behind the convening of the programme and its organisation, and said the memories will stay with him forever.

He said his focus has always been to serve his people well and ensure that he effectively responds to as many of the needs of his people as possible.

Rep. Onuigbo who promised to pay the West African Examinations(WAEC) registration fees of at least two students from each of the fourteen villages that make up Ibere said he has drawn up a detailed developmental plan for the clan which must be fully implemented. He thanked them for their continued support and promised to continue to provide effective and responsive representation for the entire people of Ikwuano/Umuahia. 

Highlight of the occasion was the display of appreciation by tens of Ibere youths whom Rep. Onuigbo provided with motor bikes.
