I Got Myself A Man (Episode 21)

There was something about this moment; It was tensing and filled with a confusing state of tension.

Nathan had wondered in his mind, if that was all I heard; about Inemesit selling the restaurant.

We were presenting the surprise together after all, and I was ready to play along the drama Nathan was about to display.

“I didn’t sell the restaurant please.” Inemesit cried out.

“How did you know that she sold the restaurant?” I asked innocently, turning to Nathan.

I Got Myself A Man (Episode 20)

” Some men came to the restaurant today and gave us two days to evacuate the place. They said that the place has been sold, and that the rightful owner is dead. I rushed home to get the Restaurant papers the lawyer gave us, and discovered that it’s missing. I gave it to her!” He pointed angrily at Inemesit and kicked her hard again, causing her to scream.

“I don’t understand. Why did you give something as important as our restaurant to your cousin? You didn’t give it to me, it would have been safe with me.” I ranted, and then turned to Inemesit, who was already tired from the beatings she’d gotten. “Who did you sell my husband’s restaurant to?” i asked, pretending to be furious. A flush crept up her red cheeks, she gave me a heated look.

“I didn’t sell the restaurant.” She replied meanly.

Nathan slapped her hard on the face again, pulling the collar of her dress. “Give me my restaurant back, give me my papers back…” He yelled, pulling her on the floor.

“Stop hitting me or else I will disgrace you here!” Nathan suddenly had a shock as he paused.

“Touch me again, and watch me expose all your evil plans today to your wife.” she said quietly.

“You don’t have anything to say against my husband thief!” I said tersely, and I almost laughed at the tone of my voice, I was amused, but I controlled myself.

“Leave my house this minute!” Nathan yelled.

And I Cried! ( Part 1)

“Which one is your house? You get house? You no get anything! gold digger like you, Inor! Inor! Inor!”

Inemesit voiced out loudly. There was tension in the air as Nathan pulled her on the floor like a piece of rag toward the door. “Get out!” He yelled.

“Baby take it easy.” I said calmly.

He looked panicked and distraught. “I am finished. I don’t own my restaurant anymore, this woman has killed me!” He said, placing his two hands on his head.

I stood and walked toward him, holding his hands. ” I know how you feel.”

“You don’t know how I feel. Few months ago, I was the MD of a food company that gave me millions monthly, and today I am stranded. Just because of that silly girl.” Nathan said bitterly.

“Baby, did you get to your lawyer?” I asked softly.

“Don’t you get it? the entire place as been sold out, with a prove of ownership. I can’t even defend myself that I own that place. My lawyer doesn’t have a copy. I didn’t make him one. No prove Inameti!” He sounded like a town crier who was devastated.

When I saw that he was drown in deep sad thoughts, I took my bag and walked away to the room.

That night, I slept like a baby for the first time in a long while. It was as if I had won a jackpot, and no one was going to take it away from me.

The Church Scandal (Episode 16)

The next morning, Inemesit had gone back to the village. Nathan had thrown out her belongings.
He was all sweaty and tired after he drove her out of the house.

“Baby, I will need you to lend me some money.” He said fiercely.

“I don’t have a dime o. I am looking for whom to lend money from for food in this house sef.” I said, sipping my tea slowly.

“You mean you can’t help me with at least one million?”

“Nathan! You were a director of a restaurant that gave you at least a million naira in a month huh, and you didn’t save any of those dimes?” I asked angrily, staring at his face with the tea cup in my hand. He looked sternly at me and gave a loud sigh. And not long after he walked away, Bakare called.

We talked for a while over the phone and I invited him over for breakfast.

“Are you sure it will be safe?” He asked.

“Yeah, why not? you’re my doctor.” I replied excitedly.

Moments later, I sent directions to my house to Bakare via text message. And before he arrived, I’d made spaghetti bolognese and fish sauce. It was my first time of making a real meal since I married Nathan. Nathan had strode into the kitchen several times to see what I was doing.

“You’re cooking? I thought you said you don’t have money?” He asked.

“I don’t have money. Take it from me Nath.” I said, stirring the fish sauce.

“Is there anything you think I can do for now?”

“Why are you so desperate?”_

I Got Myself A Man (Episode 13)

“I am desperate because….”He paused and then added, “I am in need of a job.”

“My company is hiring an assistant security man, you could come…” I didn’t complete the sentence when he walked out of the kitchen and slammed the door behind me.

I smiled, I shook my head and turned off the cooker. There was something about the moments I saw that frustration on Nathan’s face. It made me powerful beyond what I called myself.
