Hillary Clinton Wins Nevada For Africa.

Clinton

Hillary Clinton’s position as the Democratic front-runner received a needed boost with her victory in Nevada. With Bernie Sanders having won in New Hampshire, Clinton needed the double win at Iowa and Nevada to re-establish her position as the front-runner for the Democratic Party’s nomination for the November Elections.

Clinton, who won by about 52% is expected to be the flag-bearer for the Democratic Party in this year’s American presidential election. Clinton is widely expected in most parts of Africa to be the first female US president, and an advocacy tool for increased female participation in governance in Africa.

Several African Women Empowerment Groups like Gender and Development Action have repeatedly affirmed that Hillary Clinton’s victory would give their advocacy for women political empowerment  in Africa a huge boost.

The Director of Gender and Development Action in Rivers State Susan Bassey-Duke opined that; “I support Hillary. If she wins, my advocacy for women’s political empowerment in Nigeria will become easier because I would have a reference point.”

Most Africans have since perceived the Clintons as Africans.
