Former Arsenal Manager Battles Zidane For Job

Former Arsenal and Real Madrid managers, Arsene Wenger and Zinedine Zidane have both been lined up as possible candidates for the Bayern Munich managerial job.

The German giants are making efforts to replace under-fire Niko Kovac at the Allianz Stadium.

46-year-old Kovac arrived at the club in 2018 and succeeded Jupp Heynckes, who had stepped in as interim manager in the previous season after Carlo Ancelotti had been sacked.

German newspaper Bild reports that the Bavarian are ready to swing the axe on Kovac after growing impatient with the club’s sluggish start to the season, which has seen the Bundesliga Champions slip to sixth in the log table four points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern Munich have therefore shortlisted some world-class names to become their next manager of which Zidane, Wenger and former Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc, are part of.

The Bavarians were thrashed 3-0 at home by Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend, which has only added pressure on the under-fire Kovac.
