For Fashola, It Is Nigeria First, Before APC–Rep. Onuigbo, PDP Abia

By Ikenga Chronicles February 11, 2017

Chairman, House Committee on Climate Change, and the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Rep. Sam Onuigbo has described the minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola as a proper Nigerian, whose focus is on affecting positively the lives of people, irrespective of the party they belong to.

Onuigbo stated this while reacting to the commendation given to him by the Minister for his (Onuigbo’s) persistent pressure on him to do the needful on the Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene federal road. Journalists had drawn the honourable member’s attention that Fashola commended his efforts during the minister’s visit to Abia State, despite the fact he is from the PDP, and Fashola from the APC.

Reacting, Rep. Onuigbo said;

“For people like Fashola, it is not about the partyline, it is about the people. His Excellency, Babatunde Fashola has been one of the most supportive persons I have encountered. Even though I and distinguished Senator T.A Orji are from the PDP, he always gave us maximum attention whenever issues concerning that road were raised. I wish that all politicians will be like him, and always place the interest of the people first, instead of shelving the people’s interest, and tearing down what will come to them, in order to score cheap political points.”
