FIFA Sends NFF President On Errand Again

FIFA has asked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick to lead a normalisation committee tasked with getting Ghana’s FA back to its feet again.

This is coming after Pinnick was asked to supervise the just concluded Liberia football association elections.

In a letter to Pinnick from its General Secretary, Fatma Samoura yesterday,it was noted that CAF Member Associations Director, Veron Mosengo Omba and the Manager, Member Associations, Mr. Nicola Luca, will assist him in the new mission.

With the crisis in Ghana football and corruption allegations against some of its officials which would have ended in a ban of the country, the government of Ghana sent a delegation to Zurich in August and met with officials of FIFA, comprising its president, Gianni Infantino, and Secretary General, Samoura. Both sides then agreed to a road map to reform Ghanaian football.

When the government and FIFA met in Zurich during the period both sides agreed to the withdrawal of a legal suit to dissolve the Ghana Football Association and the establishment of a normalisation committee to oversee the reforms.
