EXPOSED: How Ibim Seminatari Used NDDC To Siphon Money For APC

An anonymous source has exposed how the former acting Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC), Ibim Seminatari used her position as the head of the regional development body to siphon money for the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), in Rivers state.

According to the anonymous citizen who exclusively divulged this information to Ikenga Chronicles, Ms. Seminatari was appointed by the ruling APC then , under the recommendation of former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi,so as to give her access to funds that the party used to fight the governor of the state, Nyesom Wike and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). According to him, disturbed by the power Wike wielded, it became important for the APC to have funds with which to prosecute re-run elections, and cases in court. This led to Seminatari’s appointment.

A key proof of this, according to the source is the huge amounts contracts were awarded for, and the sloppy work done by the handpicked contractors, who were paid paltry sums for roads that huge sums were allocated for.

The source mentioned particularly, the Itu-Calabar road, which was awarded for N2billion, which has now completely become dilapidated less than a year after its construction(see photos attached).

It seems however that the former NDDC boss could not have pulled it off, without the support of the Federal Government, as contracts worth up to the said N2billion must be approved by the Federal Executive Council(FEC).

The source explained that the Itu-Calabar road is only one of many contracts, where huge sums were allocated for, under Seminatari. However, because the objective was to siphon money, the jobs were very poorly done, so that the greater part of the fund would be allocated for the private use of the party.
