DSS Finally Obeys Court Order To Release Detainee

By Ikenga Chronicles December 2, 2016

The Department of State Services (DSS) has finally released Muhammad Umar, a former member of the Presidential Investigative Committee on Arms Procurement.

Umar, a retired Air Commodore, has since June been kept behind bars by DSS for alleged money laundering and illegal possession of firearms despite series of court pronouncement ordering his release.

The court order for Umar’s bail was flouted by the DSS who continued to detain the defendant, despite a condemnation of their actions by the trial judge, Nnamdi Dimgba.

It was gathered that when the matter came up in court on Thursday, Dimgba vowed not to continue until the DSS obeys his bail order.

Following Dimgba’s threat on Thursday, the SSS released the Commodore on Friday.
