Donald Trump Is Free To Act As A Dictator

By Ikenga Chronicles July 10, 2018

No one is allowed to question a President’s motive, no matter what he does, says Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.

While speaking, Dershowitz further disclosed that Donald Trump cannot possibly be charged with obstruction of justice for any of his acts as Head of State:

“You cannot question a president’s motives when a president acts. If a president pardons, that’s it. If a president fires, that’s it. You can’t go beyond the act and get into his motive or get into his intent.”

Responding to a question on if his (Dershowitz) opinion could even be applied to a president who tried to cover up a murder by issuing a pardon. The Professor responded:

“It doesn’t matter. The pardon is the pardon.”

In a reaction, former FBI Special agent, Asha Rangappa said that Dershowitz was mistaken:

“So here is my rebuttal to Dershowitz’s false comparison of firing the FBI director to the pardon power. The affirmative duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed essentially acts as an implicit prohibition on obstructing justice by firing people leading investigations.”
