“Disunity, Not Terror Or The Economy, is Nigeria’s Biggest Problem”– Ben Murray Bruce

In a series of numbered tweets sent out by Senator Ben Murray Bruce this morning, he has identified disunity as the major problem that Nigeria faces. Senator Bruce lamented that despite the fact that the country has so many intelligent people with brilliant ideas, the country is held down by lack of unity among her people. Ideas proffered are judged based on the ethnic or party affiliations of the proponent, and are accepted or shouted down based on the same criteria.

Senator Bruce expressed distress that this cancer-worm has been passed on to the youths, who now go for one another’s jugular on Social Media with the same criteria framing their discourse.

According to Bruce, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, even though he was one of the most brilliant minds of our nation never had the chance to take this country to greatness because of the same disunity, and predilection to accept people based on ethnic and party affiliations. He stressed that until we unite, we can never take Nigeria forward.Senator Bruce expressed his belief that terrorism, crime, and the economy are not our biggest challenge.

The “Commonsense Senator” and proponent of “Buy-Made-In-Naija” has been impressively waking up the people’s consciousness on strengthening the Nigerian economy by encouraging the growth of local industries through patronage.
