Dino Melaye Is Senator Of The Year 2016

Senator Dino Melaye has bagged the “Senator of the Year” award, at the Senate Press Corps 2016 Dinner and Awards night. Out of 109 Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the brilliant and outspoken senator was considered the best among all others.

Senator Melaye’s emergence as the Senator of the year did not come as a surprise to many, as he has been quite exceptional in the Red Chambers. A strong and assertive voice, the Kogi senator has continued to be at the forefront of senators who unequivocally place the interest of the country’s masses ahead of political affiliations and legislative and executive connivance. A few days ago, Senator Melaye boldly called for the jettisoning of the MTEF because it is “fraudulent”.

A leader right from a young age, Senator Dino Melaye was Head Boy both during his Primary and Secondary School days.He was also a Student Union Leader at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria; leader of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS); Secretary General of African Youth Council; Secretary General of the Commonwealth Youth Council, etc.
