David Mark Returns To The Senate

 

Former Senate President, Senator David Mark has won the re-run of the Benue South Senatorial District election. Mark, who ran under the Peoples Democratic Party defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate Daniel Onjeh in a keenly contested election. He pulled 84, 192 votes while the APC candidate Onjeh garnered 71, 621 votes.

Senator Mark won the March 28th elections, but had his victory overturned by the Appeal Court in November, 2015.
A former governor of Niger State, and Minister for communication, David Mark was the Senate president from 2007-2015, before his party lost majority of its seats in the Senate, during the last general elections.
