Action-starved Lagos football fans may be ready to fly the green-white colours as the host of a Super Eagles game after many years of snub.

This is as the Minister of Youths and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung stated that the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Zambia could be played in Lagos if the Lagos State government will complete the renovation of the national stadium within six months.

Speaking after inspecting the dilapidated edifice, alongside the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode yesterday, Dalung said, “as a way of motivating the Lagos state government, the Super Eagles match against Zambia can be played in Lagos if the renovation of the stadium can be completed in six months.”

This received a loud ovation from the crowd which had gathered to listen to both the minister and his host, Governor Ambode alongside the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick.
