Dakuku Assassination Attempt: The Face of An Impostor Revealed

Yesterday, Sahara Reporters reported that there has been an assassination attempt on the life of the Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, and posted pictures of Dr. Peterside being tended to by a man(see picture below).

It has now been revealed that the picture is not that of Dakuku Peterside(see another photo below).

(Take note of the man who held up the bandage, in the Sahara Reporters publication)

These drama are part of the accusations, false claims, and counter-accusations that have trailed the re-run elections in Rivers State. It is unclear why such actions will be engaged in by the leadership of the APC,and why the PDP has also been enacting its own drama. We gathered that it was alleged by the PDP, that the aide to the Chief of Staff of the governor, was killed in the “attack” on Dr. Peterside, with the PDP stating that it was Dr. Peterside who attacked the Chief of Staff to the governor, Nyesom Wike. No mention has been made of the name of the said aide, or details of his death released.

The Rivers re-run has stripped to bones, the shabby electoral process in the country and is a far cry from the improvements made in the 2015 General elections. Earlier, several publications, chief among them, The Nation had stated that the Transport Minister, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, and Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Ibim Seminatari had gone to Mile One Police Station to “release” an electoral officer “held hostage” at the Police station. It was unclear to Ikenga Chronicles how an electoral officer would be “held hostage” by the Police, and what powers the three afore-mentioned have in “releasing” the person. The PDP on their part stated that electoral officer in question was working for the APC, and was arrested because she had fake result sheets.

When Ikenga Chronicles contacted the Special Assistant on Media to Ibim Seminatari, Mr. Bekee Anyalewechi to get his views, he declined to offer any.
