With a win in Puerto Rico and additional Super Delegates support, Hillary Clinton has reached the projected number of delegates needed to become the nominee for the Democratic Party–2383. Clinton’s delegates count stand at; 1,812 pledged delegates and 572 superdelegates for a total of 2,384 delegates, which is one more than the stipulated 2383.

Later today, Clinton’s delegates count is expected to grow as primaries hold in California, New Jersey and four other states.

Clinton’s opponent Bernie Sanders is yet to concede defeat. With Clinton now likely to be the Democratic nominee, one wonders when the real work of re-uniting the party will begin.
