Christian Parents And The Assumption That Their Children Are Born Again

“No, my sons! For it is not a good report that I hear. You make the LORD’S people transgress.” 1Sam 2:24.

I grew up in church, literally. As a matter of fact, my mother was a church staff, and I believed that she was under the impression that I was saved while growing up. I had the language and the look, but I wasn’t born again. My parents just assumed.

Most Christian parents are making the same mistake with their children. They take their children to church, drop them off at Sunday school, church events and children’s programmes. They think that the more immersed a child is in religious activities, the better for the child’s soul. But that’s not true!

Eli was a priest as his fathers before him. God warned him about the spiritual decadence of his children but he was cavalier about it. The children were so spiritually rotten that they became a reason the name of the Lord was being spoken against.

Dear Christian parents, don’t play the assumption game when it comes to the salvation of your children. Your spiritual walk is personal, ensure your children develop theirs. Take practical steps toward it.

Let not your children be the reason the name of the Lord will be spoken against!
