Buhari’s 2017 Budget Presentation: Security Operatives Shut Down National Assembly Complex

Security operatives have shut down all the entrances leading to the  National Assembly complex as Nigerians await President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2017 budget presentation.

Ikenga Chronicles learnt that the situation has rendered entry into the complex a herculean task as members of staff have been denied access, a situation that has also affected services within the complex.

At the time of this report, long queues of vehicles and crowd of agitated people were seen at the different entry points.

Recall that Buhari is scheduled to visit the National Assembly by 12 pm to officially present the estimates of the 2017 budget to senators and members of the House of Representatives.

The president is in Gambia with an ECOWAS team made up of the president’s of Liberia and Ghana among others to persuade the country’s President Yahya Jammeh to accept the election results in which he lost and had already congratulated the winner but made a U-turn.
