BREAKING:Akeredolu Wins Ondo Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC)has declared Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) as the winner of the Ondo State Governorship election.

At the end of the official announcement of results by INEC, for 17 local governments, Akeredolu scored 224,167 votes.

His closest rival Eyitayo Jegede of the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) scored 132,823 votes while Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, currently has 98,230 votes.

Apart from winning the highest number of votes cast in the 17 local governments already announced, Mr. Akeredolu also won the highest number of councils.

He won in 14 local governments; Mr. Jegede won in two while Mr. Oke won in one local government.

A statement on INEC’s official Twitter handle reads;

“That ODUNAYO AKEREDOLU, having fulfilled the requirements of the law and got the highest votes, is the winner & is returned elected”

As of the time of filing in this report, Akeredolu and his supporters are dancing to the victory at the poll.
