Breaking: Adama Barrow Sworn In As Gambia’s President

Adama Barrow, the winner of last year’s Gambian presidential election has been sworn in as the country’s new president.Mr. Barrow was sworn in at the embassy of the Gambia in Senegal, in a ceremony attended by several Western ambassadors and Gambians in the country.

Meanwhile, Yayha Jammeh, the president whom Mr. Barrow defeated in the election is still holding forth at the Gambia’s seat of power with ECOMOG forces bearing down on the capital,with plans to enter the country if Jammeh does not vacate the Presidential villa by midnight today.

International countries have since recognised Adama Barrow as the Gambia’s legitimate president after he was sworn in.
