Breaking: Supreme Court Vacates Charges Against Saraki

The Supreme Court today, Friday, June 6,2018, vacated all charges against Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The judgment which was delivered by Justice Centus Nweze, in Abuja, was unanimously agreed to by the five-man panel.

Recall that Saraki has been under trial with the Code of Conduct Tribunal over “false assets declaration”.

While the charges were initially dropped, the Appeal court had ruled that Saraki had a case to answer on counts 4,5,6 which are in relation to the ownership of properties in Ikoyi Lagos. The said three counts are out of eighteen counts earlier preferred against him by the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Supreme Court judgement today vacated all charges and the judgment of the Appeal court, and frees Saraki of all charges.
