Breaking: Jimoh Ibrahim Remains PDP Guber Candidate In Ondo Elections

By Ikenga Chronicles November 18, 2016

Jimoh Ibrahim, the governorship candidate of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Ondo State elections remains the candidate recognised by the Independent National Commission (INEC). This is as a result of the adjournment of the special panel of the court of appeal which was hearing the case.

There were indications this morning that Eyitayo Jegede(the candidate presented by the Makarfi faction) was going to emerge the chosen candidate as the panel was set to rule in is favour. This was however jettisoned at the last minute following a suit filed at the Supreme Court by one of the parties to the case.

After the suit was filed, the head of the Court of Appeal panel,Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, announced the panel had adjourned indefinitely.

Following that adjournment, Jimoh automatically retains his place in next weekend’s election.
