Breaking: Brazilian President Impeached

Brazilian Senate has voted 61-20 for the impeachment of President Dilma Rouseff. President Rouseff has been removed for “breaking budgetary laws”. The impeachment proceedings which began with the suspension of the president in May culminated in her impeachment by a majority vote of the Senate today.

The impeached president has said that the process was not an impeachment process, but a coup.President Rouseff was elected in 2011.

In the mean time, Michel Temer replaces her and will serve for the remainder of her tenure.
