Breaking: Amaju Pinnick Removed As NFF President

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick was on Monday removed as the head of Nigeria’s football governing body.

Pinnick’s removal, which is bound to raise the ire of FIFA was backed by Solomon Dalung, Nigeria’s Sports Minister,who has given his blessings for Christopher Giwa(banned by FIFA from all footballing activities) to take over at the NFF.

Why Nigeria Lost To Croatia Last Night!

According to Dalung;

“I have been directed to notify you of the Orders dated June 5th 2018 made by Honorable Justice M. H. Kurya sitting at the Federal High Court Jos in respect of the above mentioned suit between Yahaya Adama vs. Alhaji Aminu Maigari which states that the election of the NFF held on August 26, 2014 under the leadership of Amb. Chris Giwa be given recognition pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed in this case and that the purported ban of the Executive Committee elected on August 26, 2014 from football activities of the NFF is unconstitutional, null and void.”

Dear Abike Dabiri And Buhari, Return Us To “Bottomless Pit” Nigeria

Dalung, who said he must obey court orders asked that everyone at the NFF falls in line, forthwith.

Giwa has always claimed that he was the rightful winner of the 2014 NFF elections– a claim that has now been backed by judgments from the Supreme and high courts. FIFA however did not recognise the election due to third party interference, and had threatened then to sanction Nigeria.

According to reports, FIFA has been notified of this development, with Nigeria likely to face sanctions if the country follows through in installing Giwa.
