Blueprint On Agricultural Sector Development To Be Ready In Two Weeks– Audu Ogbeh

The Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Chief Audu Ogbeh has stated that the ministry’s blueprint on developing the Agricultural sector will be ready within two weeks. The minister stated this when he received members of the Senate Committee on Agriculture in his office in Abuja, on Tuesday the 23rd of February.

Chief Ogbeh, who agreed that the nation is currently a dependent nation due to its neglect of the Agricultural sector affirmed that Nigeria can become free from imports and gain food sufficiency through Agriculture.

With stuttering oil prices, there is an urgent need for Nigeria to diversify and the Agricultural sector seems to be a great place to start. This view was expressed by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote earlier on in the month, during the launch of his Rice Growers Scheme in Jigawa.

Many Nigerians will hope that the blueprint to be released in two weeks will be easily accessible, so that citizens can monitor and contribute.
