Bayelsa APC Secretariat Attack: Six Suspects Identified

No fewer than six persons have been identified by the Bayelsa State command of the Nigeria Police Force in connection with the attack on the state Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which culminated into the death of two persons, leaving others seriously injured.

It would be recalled that the APC secretariat was, last Friday, attacked when some armed men disrupted the inauguration of the Acting Chairman of the party, Joseph Fafi.

Fafi came to the limelight as the acting Chairman of the party in the state, sequel to the expulsion of the former chairman, Tiwei Orunimighe; his deputy, Eddy Julius; and the party’s secretary, Marlin Daniel, over allegation of anti-party activities.

According to the spokesperson of the police in the state, Asinim Butswat, the assailants abandoned the Hiace bus with the registration number BYGH 335 when they sighted policemen after the incident.

Butswat added that, “We have also identified about six names (which I would not want to mention for security reasons). Efforts are ongoing to arrest those six persons.’’
