Ban Threat: FIFA Protecting Pinnick, Corruption– NANF

Harrison Jalla, the President of the National Association of Nigerian Footballers (NANF) has claimed that the press conference where FIFA President, Giovanni Infantino, threatened Nigeria with a ban and alluded to the fact that Amaju Pinnick is the President that FIFA recognises is a way of protecting the embattled NFF President and corruption.

Jalla who spoke in a press conference in Lagos minutes after Infantino’s statement said, “Infantino is protecting Pinnick because of the proceeds of corruption which he has immensely benefited from. We have already concluded our petition to the FIFA Ethics committee. What took Infantino to the Nigerian dressing room? He is a slave of the patronage of Pinnick. How come he has visited Nigeria almost 10 times.”

According to the former Flash Flamingoes of Benin player, “Infantino wants to use FIFA to shield corruption. His statement is political. He should issue the letter of ban and we shall sue him. We have our facts in place.”

“Infantino should come and install Pinnick. We are waiting for Pinnick to finish his world cup assignments and come and face his corruption mess. Our 2015 petition where Pinnick was alleged to have amassed N4.2billion has been activated. James Peters’ petition is there. This is the man that Infantino wants to shield.”

“As far as we are concerned, the statement made by Infantino does not represent the feelings of the people of Nigeria and her government. So, I urge the FIFA President to create a separate country for Pinnick.”

It would be recalled that a Nigerian journalist, Kisu Sulola asked Infantino about “a group of people” who have seized the Nigerian Football secretariat” while Infantino responded about “government” being behind the seizure and added that Nigeria risk being banned.

The premise of the question he was asked was misleading as well as the environment of his response.

This has elicited massive request by Nigerians that FIFA should ban the country while the former Nigerian FA President, Amaju Pinnick should come and face his corruption charges before the EFCC.
