Anti-Social Media Bill Thrown Off The Senate

The notorious Social Media Bill which was brought before the Senate has been thrown off. This followed the recommendation of the Senate Committee on Human Rights and Legal Matters.

According to Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki;

“This withdrawal was prompted by the fact that any piece of legislation with real or perceived violations on the fundamental rights of Nigerians must be set aside for the greater good of our nation.”

The bill was originally brought before the Senate by Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah (pictured above)
