Alexis Sanchez Risks Jail After Tax Fraud Evidence

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez risks going to jail after admitting to a Spanish court on Monday that he  defrauded Spanish tax authorities of €983 443 in his spell at Barcelona.
Sanchez could no longer hold on to it as he made public ‎a video link to prove he committed tax error which he has settled with the Spanish Treasury. ‎He confessed that he did not include profits from image rights which transited through a company based in Malta within the period of 2012 and 2013 while declaring his tax within that period. In addition, he also admitted that he had not stated that he owned the company Numidia Trading Limited.
The 28-year-old is therefore expected to receive a fine or be handed  a  non-custodial prison sentence.
However, Barcelona players have been famous with such allegations especially in recent times with Neymar still likely to be sent to prison for two years by the Spanish authorities. The 24-year-old is fingered for his part in a corruption case over his transfer from Brazilian club Santos in 2013.
Lionel Messi and his father Jorge were sentenced to 21 months in prison for same tax fraud earlier in 2016.The duo evaded tax on Lionel’s image rights, owing more than €4m in back payments but did not serve time as their sentence was less than 24 months (2 years)
