Aisha Buhari Distributes Money To Over 200 Women

Aisha Buhari Foundation’s Community Based Cash Transfer Intervention has distributed funds to over 200 women in Katsina State.

This was made known in a press statement signed by the Spokesperson, Suleiman Haruna.

The statement states that it was “a continuation to a similar event in Daura in which 200 women were assisted with cash to grow their business last Tuesday”.

The event held at the Katsina Multipurpose Hall on Thursday.

Coordinator of Aisha Buhari Foundation, Kamal Muhammad, who represented Mrs Buhari at the event, said that “the cash transfer initiative is in line with the vision of Future Assured Programme on improving the health and wellbeing of women and children.”

He added: “It will lead to an improvement in household income, which will in-turn improve feeding and nutritional status, school attendance and quality of education as well as improve health status of the family, among other benefits.”

These benefits, he said will contribute to the attainment of related Sustainable Development Goals.

He charged the beneficiaries to expand their businesses with this cash support. The statement did not elaborate on the sum disbursed to the women.
