Acting CJN, Walter Onnoghen  To Face Senate

The Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen is slated to face the senate on Wednesday for confirmation hearing.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki made this disclosure on Tuesday on Tuesday.

Recall that Onnoghen’s name was forwarded to the Senate on February 8 for confirmation as a substantive CJN by acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

Meanwhile, the Senate is yet to make public its decision on the screening of Ibrahim Magu for confirmation as the substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Magu’s earlier nomination was rejected last December by the Senate, which cited allegations integrity deficiency made by the State State Security.
