23 Ex-militants Graduate From Training. Get Immediate Employment

Twenty three ex-militants rehabilitated under the Presidential Amnesty Programme are now qualified electrical engineering technicians specialising in electrical transformer repairs and maintenance.

In addition to the above skill, the trainees were also taught Personal Development & Entrepreneurship, Basic computer and Appreciation, computer aided technical drafting and design, and occupational safety and health (OSHA).

Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the President on the Niger Delta and the Head of the Amnesty Project, Brig. Gen. PT Boroh (Rtd) promised the graduands that they would be empowered  adequately as a mark of the success story which they have become, to continue as better citizens. Represented by Mr Jude Akpodubakaye, the Reintegration Officer to the Amnesty Office who also came through the program, the adviser wished them well, and thanked them for living up to the expectations for which the programme was formed.

Four students who came through the training with distinction, were immediately employed by Brainbox Matrix – the organisers of the training. One of the four, Otuyevwohwo Oghwuru, expressed gratitude to President Muhammad Buhari, the Special Adviser PT Boroh, and love to the Director of Brainbox Matrix, Engineer Sylvanus Eferebo. He was happy for who he was now, and prayed that the programme should be implemented to the detail so that the full benefits could be reaped.

The MD of Brainbox Matrix also thanked the president and the adviser for departing from the norm where such contracts were awarded strictly to cronies to really look at projects that looked genuine enough. He expressed his appreciation at the transparent way in which the new head, Brig. Gen. Boroh was running the project, and believed that it was certainly on its path towards reaping the real benefit for which it was designed.
